Data sources

The 0.5, 2, 5, 10, 30, 60, 120 meter DEMs derive from swissALTI3D. The 250, 500, 1000 meter DEMs derive from 90m MERIT DEM. The 2000 meter DEM derives from SRTM+ obtained from OpenTopography.

Data processing

The processing of DEMs occurred in QGIS, Eduard, and Natural Scene Designer Pro. We used bicubic interpolation for downsampling and did not apply additional filtering or generalization to the DEMs.

Data issues

Slight elevation variations exist between DEMs derived from the different source data. The 1000 and 2000 meter DEMs do not include elevations below sea level.
